OLD FRIENDS
Copyright 2013 by Norris Trimm
If I were twenty years younger
and you were twenty years plus
two birthday candles
would separate us
What's a few years
between old friends
that's all I'm
asking you
You could roller skate
while I warm the bench
watch you do flips
while you watch me flinch
What's a few years
between old friends
that's all I'm
asking you
Reincarnation
that would be fine
still my teeth would be gone
and so would my mind
What's a few years
between old friends
that's all I'm
asking you
If I were twenty years younger
and you were twenty years plus
two birthday candles
would separate us
What's a few years
between old friends
that's all I'm
asking you
You could roller skate
while I warm the bench
watch you do flips
while you watch me flinch
What's a few years
between old friends
that's all I'm
asking you
Reincarnation
that would be fine
still my teeth would be gone
and so would my mind
What's a few years
between old friends
that's all I'm
asking you
friendship knows no age. :) I love this poem Henry
